GAYMPLAN: So, what is DYN (Drain Your Nut)?
DRAIN YOUR NUT (DYN): Drain Your Nut is a drug free play party for guys who want to connect for hot play. We host in LA, San Diego, Phoenix, Palm Springs, and San Francisco.
GAYMPLAN: What should people expect at a DYN party? What’s the general vibe?
DYN: DYN is for guys who like group play but don’t want to deal with everything that usually comes with big warehouse parties - super late nights, messy backrooms, or guys who are too fucked up. We focus on a welcoming attitude and a friendly and sexy environment.
GAYMPLAN: What’s the music situation like?
DYN: We play custom DYN mixes by DJ Mateo Segade, and they are the perfect soundtrack. We get compliments on our music at every party!
GAYMPLAN: How do DYN parties differ from other play parties?
DYN: DYN groups are typically three hours long, they happen from 8-11pm, and are drug free groups. Our goal is to get a critical mass of guys all in the space at the same time, rather than a trickle of 20 or so guys over the course of an evening at a sex club or bathhouse. We like to host in the evening rather than late night so guys with busy lives can enjoy the groups too.
GAYMPLAN: What do people wear typically?
DYN: We tell people to wear whatever they are comfortable in, but encourage guys to show a little skin. Most guys get naked, or wear jocks or thongs. But we totally welcome and encourage fetish gear, leather, latex, rubber, pup hoods, singlets… whatever makes a guy feel sexy.
GAYMPLAN: What kind of people go?
DYN: We get all types of guys. Our groups are always a big mix of types, so you can find anything you’re looking for… truly anything. The main thing everyone has in common is that they are horny and want to enjoy the group.
GAYMPLAN: Are there any restrictions as to who can go to a DYN party
DYN: DYN is a men’s group, so anyone who identifies as a man is welcome. Trans guys, and non-binary folks who feel comfortable in men’s sex spaces are welcome.
GAYMPLAN: How much socializing happens at a typical DYN party?
DYN: We have a lobby and lounge area at our play space where guys socialize throughout the night. We offer light refreshments and snacks, so if guys need a break they can recharge and chat in the lounge area. The play space is for action. Of course there is always some light chatter and talking that happens, but we encourage all the socializing to happen away from the play space.
GAYMPLAN: Why don’t you allow drinking at DYN?
DYN: Our focus is on quality connection in our play space. We like to bring people together who are looking to play without the need to be inebriated. Drugs and alcohol just make things messier.
GAYMPLAN: What do you love seeing at your parties?
DYN: I love seeing guys leave the groups with a big smile on their faces. And I love seeing guys return to our groups month after month; it’s awesome knowing we create a space guys want to come back to over and over again. My favorite feedback is from guys who say, “I didn’t know what to expect and I was nervous, but after tonight, I’m coming back every chance I get. “
GAYMPLAN: What do you hope NOT to see at your parties?
DYN: If you’re fucked up, we turn you away. Do not come to our groups wasted or high. I won’t let you inside. No one wants to play with someone who can’t walk straight and is slurring their words. I also hate to see “mean gays” at our groups, When guys come in a little group of friends, huddle together, and only talk to or play with each other I just think “well you could’ve just stayed home and played with each other. Why come out to our group and then turn your back to everyone?”
DYN is about connecting with new people, having exciting and sexy experiences in the group.
GAYMPLAN: What is the space like at the San Diego parties?
DYN: We host in a really cool space that has lots of rooms. We have beds, slings, fuck benches, couches, dark corners and lots to discover. We have a clothes check area, a lounge, two bathrooms, and even a patio. It’s set up like a loop so you can cruise around the space and not get stuck in one area.
GAYMPLAN: Why Thursdays?
DYN: Why not?! Who else is throwing a party on a Thursday? We find a weekday works well for the focus of our group: three solid hours of hot play. On the weekends people are torn between going to a dinner party, a concert, a bar night, etc. Thursday works out really well for the DYN crowd. And our 8-11pm time frame allows for plenty of action, but also a decent end time makes it easy to attend during the week.
GAYMPLAN: What are the amenities provided?
DYN: We provide our clothes check, snacks and refreshments, mouthwash, mints, clean up towels, lube, condoms, and a well curated space with a sexy vibe to connect with horny guys!
GAYMPLAN: Do you recommend driving, Ubering or carpooling?
DYN: If you don’t want to think about parking, then definitely Uber or Lyft. Carpooling is a great idea too. There is plenty of parking available, but our groups get busy, so sometimes it’s hard to find a spot right out front of the venue. But if you don’t mind a little walk, it’s totally easy to drive and park.
GAYMPLAN: Would you recommend DYN for someone’s first play party?
DYN: Yes, for sure! I always say DYN is good for first timers and well seasoned pros alike. I think our low pressure and welcoming environment are great for a first timer. And because we don’t allow drinking or drugs, guys won’t feel out of control, which is good when you’re entering a sex space for the first time.
GAYMPLAN: What would you tell people if this is their first play party?
DYN: Come check us out! There is no pressure to do anything you don’t want to do. Most first timers are scared of two things: 1.) What if people I don’t want to hook up with approach me? 2.) What if someone turns me down? Well guess what? BOTH WILL HAPPEN! That’s the nature of big groups.
If someone approaches you that you aren’t interested in, you don’t need to be mean or cold, you simply say no thank you, or move their hand away from your body with a light touch. And the same thing might happen to you! But that’s the nature of the game.
Most guys will experience attraction, rejection, connection, and more at each party; that’s just how this works. It’s a fun cycle that can be very arousing and exciting.
